    Principal's Message

Welcome Back!! The school year is right around the corner and we have a lot of big changes at Williams Jr/Sr High School. Summer is wrapping up which means we will be trading our swimming suits for backpacks, backyard barbecues for Friday night football games.  Personally, I can't wait!

One of the big changes for next year is our exciting new schedule. we will be on an alternating block schedule. That means students will get more time to focus on each class. Students will only have 4 classes per day. With the new flexibility in our schedule students will be able to access more electives and college courses during their school day. The class periods will be longer which will give our students the time they need to meet the new rigorous demands of the Common Core State Standards.

The Common Core State Standards are the new set of academic standards that students will be expected to meet to be prepared for the workforce, college, or whatever path our students choose to take. Our mission at Williams Jr/Sr High School will be to give students the education they need to truly choose what they want to do after high school.

What I am most excited about is seeing my students again learning, achieving, participating, and sometimes having a little bit of fun. We have many challenges ahead of us which will push us to work harder than before.  The entire staff push all students to work harder than before. There is no doubt in my mind that every student will be successful.    Get ready for a great year! Go Jackets!
